An exciting Maximum-Term Full-Time opportunity is available in our Business Improvement Directorate for a Manager Information Services to provide parental leave cover. Commencing on 31 August 2026 and anticipated to continue until 16 April 2027 (subject to variation depending on the substantive incumbent's parental leave arrangements).
This role offers an opportunity for an experienced and collaborative leader to lead a high-performing branch delivering critical information management, technology, cyber security and customer service functions that support the City's strategic priorities. As part of the broader leadership team, you will provide strategic direction, champion contemporary and secure systems, foster a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence, and lead people, resources and stakeholder relationships to deliver positive outcomes for our community.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing strategic leadership to the branch and contribute to the broader direction of the City, delivering expert advice and driving continuous improvement to meet current and emerging community needs.
- Leading delivery of critical services across Information Management and Freedom of Information, Information Technology and Applications, Cyber Security and Customer Relations, ensuring responsive, customer-focused outcomes.
- Developing high-performing teams, managing people, projects and resources to achieve operational excellence, sound financial management and successful delivery of key initiatives.
- Driving governance, compliance and innovation, overseeing policies, strategies and frameworks that strengthen information management, privacy, cyber security and organisational performance.
- Building strong stakeholder relationships and partnerships, representing the City and collaborating with community groups, government agencies and external stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes.
To be successful you will have:
- Highly developed leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build high-performing, collaborative teams.
- Proven ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement and foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
- Highly developed strategic thinking skills and ability to translate organisational objectives and needs into practical outcomes.
- Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, managing and evaluating programs and services.
- Highly developed financial, budgeting and resource management skills.
- Significant experience in information technology and digital services, including information management, cyber security, systems administration and customer service.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or substantial senior management experience in a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to introduce, lead and manage organisational change.

Salary Package: Circa $175,000 per annum, excluding superannuation
