An exciting opportunity has become available in our Waste and Infrastructure Maintenance Department on a permanent full time basis. The City of Subiaco have a fleet of 4 waste trucks and a team that provide General Waste, FOGO and recycling services across our residential and commerical properties.
Infrastructure Maintenance includes the mainteance of the City's roads, pathways and laneways, lighting, drainage, graffiti, signs and street infrastructure.
In this role, the successful applicant will work to provide a high standard of customer service and administrative support to the both the Waste and Infrastructure Maintenance teams. We are solutions focused and pride ourselves on assisting our community with high standard of customer service.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Provide quality customer service and act as the community liaison for all waste and infrastructure queries, including resolving issues.
- Answer all telephone and written enquiries politely, efficiently and promptly.
- Complete typing and formatting of letters, memos, quotes/tenders, and data downloads to spreadsheets.
- Issuing of purchase orders, and managing invoicing and goods receipting.
- Ensure all corporate documents are saved into the City's recordkeeping system.
- Investigate and report findings in relation to requests for onsite inspections re: bins, verge items and similar.
- Liaise with relevant waste management organisations.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- The ability to handle high volumes of work and multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
- Local Government experience in any administrative role is an advantage
- Proficiency in CRM systems is desrable (Technology One highly desirable).
- Experience in the waste management industry including waste recycling, reduction, recovery and waste legislation is an advantage but not essential.
- Demonstrated competence in several key skill areas related to major elements of the job.
- A current C-Class driver's licence

Salary Package
In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 4. The salary range is $74,220.64 to $84,667.44 per annum, exclusive of supperanuation.
