Job Description

This role sits in the Engineering Services branch and will oversee the maintenance of infrastructure asset inventories and related spatial datasets. The key responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective asset management practices, including life cycle management, asset capitalisation and close out.
  • Maintain the integrity of asset data as a single knowledge base, ensuring accuracy and completeness to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Assist in creating reporting mechanisms for infrastructure asset information.
  • Provide support and training for staff on the asset register, including reporting and system inquiries.
  • Coordinate effective record-keeping throughout projects to ensure a seamless asset handover transition.
  • Identify and implement improvements in record-keeping capabilities to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Develop processes and procedures to effectively capture, manipulate, and retrieve infrastructure asset data in the council's asset information systems.
  • Support operational teams in creating and maintaining asset inspections, asset defects, and maintenance schedules.
  • Support the delivery teams with Infrastructure Grants management, including development of processes, reporting and project acquittals and claims.
  • Other duties within the skills, knowledge and experience of the incumbent as required.

Essential criteria:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure asset management information systems,
  • Ability to develop and maintain asset registers.
  • Experience with geospatial information systems, including updating and modifying geographical information mapping layers and data.
  • Experience in maintaining asset and financial inventories and datasets.
  • Ability to coordinate workflow, prioritise tasks effectively, and work under pressure while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and build strong relationships.

Salary package:

In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 6 and the salary range is $97,864 to $107,640 per annum, exclusive of superannuation.
