Job Description

The successful candidate will join the team at Lords Recreation Centre and will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, delivering high-quality marketing strategies and coordinating fitness programs that promote mental and physical wellbeing.

The key responsibilities of this role will be to:

  • Lead, direct and guide the Business Development team to achieve goals.
  • Drive team performance by fostering initiative, innovation and accountability.
  • Oversee recruitment, induction, training and performance appraisal to build capability.
  • Mange workload, wellbeing and engagement to sustain a high-performing team.
  • Regularly report to Manager Recreation Services, providing updates on performance, strategies and challenges.
  • Deliver an annual marketing strategy to promote Lords services and facilities, driving revenues and attendance.
  • Create and execute targeted, innovative social media campaigns aligned with marketing strategy.
  • Promote brand awareness for Lords Recreation Centre across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with Coordinators and team leaders to develop initiatives, monitor services and customer trends, and improve programs to maximise usage and revenue.
  • Support Team Leader Health and Fitness to deliver programs that enhance community and wellbeing.
  • Ensure activities comply with established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop program and service budgets with the Manager Recreation Services.
  • Any other duties as required.

Essential criteria:       

  • Tertiary qualification in Recreation, Business, Marketing or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to plan, prioritise and achieve outcomes to deadlines.
  • Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
  • Well-developed project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing plans and strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability in establishing, improving and maintaining systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in research and data analysis.
  • Well-developed understanding of the sport and recreation sector.
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Police certificate, dated within the last 6 months.

Salary package: 

In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 7. The salary range is $111,072.00 to $119,028.00 per annum, exclusive of superannuation.
