Job Description

We are currently inviting expressions of interest from candidates to join a pool of casual Museum Officers at the City of Subiaco, for the following key shifts:

  • Wednesday 12pm-4pm
  • Saturday 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Any other cover during museum opening hours as required

In joining the casual pool, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist visitors to the museum and respond to request for information, both verbal and written.
  • Conduct research and arrange photograph reproduction of materials from the museum collections as required.
  • Maintain research files to assist the public and staff with access to collections.
  • Assist in the cleaning and presentation of the museum.
  • Support the museum team and museum volunteers.
  • Assist with the accessioning of new acquisitions, demonstrating an appreciation of significance and the requirements of the museum's Collection Policy.
  • Provide data entry input and scan images into the Mosaic database.
  • Other duties as required.

The essential requirements for this position include:

  • High level of customer service skills and experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good knowledge and experience in museum practice
  • Well-developed ability to use corporate computer systems.

Hourly Rate: Starting from $34.54 per hour, inclusive of casual loading plus 11.5% superannuation
