We are currently looking for Casual Duty Managers to join our Recreation Services team at Lords Recreation Centre.
With shifts being offered predominately over weekend opening hours, with occasional weekday evenings and public holidays, this role is predominately a customer service focused role, taking on the responsibility for overall centre management in the absence of senior staff.
In joining the team at Lords, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assuming responsibility of the centre including safe and efficient operation.
- Act as the most senior staff member on site.
- To be the first point of contact for all staff while on shift.
- Recognise pool water quality and act accordingly within the Code of Practice for Aquatic Facilities.
- Provide a point of contact to resolve disputes within the authority and accountability of the role.
- Ensure the presentation of Lords is held to a consistently high standard.
- Ensure all maintenance issues are identified and actioned in an appropriate manner whilst minimising the risk to Lords users and staff.
- Deliver operational support to all departments including Reception, Cafe, Group Fitness, Crèche, Gym, and Pool.
Duties include:
- Security of building including locking up and arming.
- Sound knowledge of court set up and use of scoreboards.
- Oversee the management and treatment of first aid response to injuries sustained by staff and patrons.
- Act as the Chief Warden in the event of a Centre emergency or evacuation, overseeing the safe and orderly evacuation and liaise with Emergency Services and service agencies to assist in the resolution of any emergency situation.
- Manage facility faults.
- Prepare, set up and pack down courts/functions (volleyball, birthday parties etc).
- Incident reporting.
- Monitor overall activity in the building at all times.
The essential requirements for this position are:
- Working with Children Check.
- Senior First Aid and CPR.
- Pool Operations qualification or relevant experience desirable.
- Supervisory ability and a high level of organisational ability in planning, prioritising and achieving outcomes to deadlines.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed customer service skills.
- Self-motivated and have the ability to use initiative, perform without supervision and work as part of a busy team.
- Previous experience in a Recreation Centre environment.
- Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and fit into a variety of roles to meet the requirements of the organisation.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
Hourly Rate: $41.60 per hour, inclusive of casual loading.
